Sky Candy Studios partnered with Caterpillar to capture cinematic aerial and ground-based footage of the Caterpillar 100 Year Celebration – a large-scale outdoor industrial event marking a major corporate milestone.
The video documents the scale, organization, and operational power behind Caterpillar’s century-long legacy, using elevated perspectives to showcase both individual machines and the full event footprint.

The video opens with wide aerial shots over a massive outdoor dirt site, immediately establishing the scale of the celebration. From above, rows of Caterpillar equipment are visible across the grounds, arranged in an organized layout designed for live demonstrations and movement.
Sky Candy Studios used smooth aerial flyovers and angled passes to capture the full footprint of the event space, the volume and variety of machinery on site, and the coordinated layout of equipment and operational zones.
Beyond wide aerial coverage, the project included dynamic shots of Caterpillar equipment actively operating on the terrain – large machines moving across graded dirt surfaces, the mechanical scale and detail of the equipment, and coordinated demonstrations taking place throughout the site. Camera movement remained controlled and deliberate, reinforcing the power, precision, and connection to construction, infrastructure, and heavy industry.
Filming a large-scale outdoor industrial event with active heavy machinery required tight coordination with Caterpillar’s operations team. Flight paths were mapped around live demonstration zones, equipment movement, and crowd flow – keeping clear sightlines and safe buffers while still delivering the elevated perspectives that establish the full event footprint.
Our pilots hold FAA Part 107 certification and follow written checklists and site-specific risk reviews. Industrial environments with active heavy machinery demand strict airspace management, coordination with site operations, and visual observers on every flight. Setups balanced aerial platforms for elevated coverage with ground-level cinema rigs for machinery detail and motion.
