PROJECT OVERVIEW
JOHN SUMMIT || LIVE AT MADISON SQUARE GARDEN
ABOUT THIS PROJECT
Sky Candy Studios partnered with a major live music production to capture cinematic aerial and event footage of John Summit performing live at Madison Square Garden. The project highlights our ability to document arena-level performances, complex stage builds, and high-energy crowds inside one of the most iconic venues in the world.
Filmed in New York City, this event required precise coordination, advanced camera movement, and a deep understanding of live-event flow to accurately capture the scale, intensity, and atmosphere of a sold-out electronic music performance.
PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS
- Artist: John Summit
- Venue: Madison Square Garden, New York City
- Event Type: Live electronic music performance
- Services: Large-scale event aerial videography, cinematic event filming, crowd and atmosphere capture
- Style: Sweeping flyovers, elevated angles, stage symmetry, dense crowd reactions
The footage showcases a central stage structure suspended above the crowd, with attendees surrounding the performance area on all sides. Sweeping flyover shots and angled passes reveal the sheer scale of the venue, while elevated camera movements highlight the symmetry and design of the stage.
By combining wide arena views with tighter performance shots, the final video tells a complete visual story of the event rather than isolated moments – densely packed crowd reactions, coordinated lighting and laser sequences, and the energy of a flagship live show.
Sky Candy Studios focused on capturing the full scope of the performance using dynamic aerial and elevated perspectives that emphasized both the performer and the audience experience. We combined wide arena views with tighter performance shots – sweeping flyovers revealed venue scale while elevated camera movements highlighted the symmetry of the suspended stage.
Madison Square Garden presents unique challenges for event videography due to its size, lighting complexity, and dense audience layout. Filming required precise coordination with venue staff and production, timed around set transitions and audience flow. Every shot was planned in advance so we could capture authentic moments without disrupting the live experience.
Our pilots hold FAA Part 107 certification and follow written checklists and site-specific risk reviews – critical for indoor arena work where airspace, audience safety, and rigging proximity all need to be managed. We use visual observers, document every flight, and operate within strict event-safety protocols.
The final cut tells a complete visual story of a sold-out John Summit performance – densely packed crowd reactions, coordinated lighting and laser sequences, and the sheer scale of MSG as a venue. Built for social, web, and event use, with short teasers and longer-form edits that reflect the energy and production value of a flagship live show.
