Skycandy’s Exclusive Tour

Bud Flight

About This Project

Sky Candy Studios partnered with Bud Light and the City of Philadelphia to create “Bud Flight”—a high‑energy FPV drone videography piece shot across Philadelphia, PA. Starring the Philadelphia Eagles’ mascot Swoop, the film follows a can‑by‑can delivery run that zips through the city’s neighborhoods, alleys, rooftops, and landmarks, culminating at an electric Eagles tailgate. Equal parts commercial, love letter, and sports anthem, Bud Flight showcases how FPV drone cinematography in Philadelphia can power a big‑brand story with pace, character, and hometown pride.

The story: Swoop’s run across Philadelphia

The camera kicks in mid‑action as Swoop takes flight. From there, we carve through iconic Philly—sneaking down alleyways, threading tight interiors, skimming rooftops, and weaving between buildings with fast, precise FPV moves. Along the route, the film drops in surprise cameos—from Sylvester Stallone perched above the Rocky Steps to a playful nod to Ben Franklin, who gets a frosty delivery of his own. Each stop lands as a quick beat of humor, community, and game‑day excitement, all building toward the roar of an Eagles tailgate, where the final can touches down in the hands of fans ready to raise it high.

Behind the flight: FPV precision, choreography & city‑scale logistics

Planning & pre‑viz. To keep momentum without sacrificing safety, the team pre‑visualized routes, timing, and hand‑offs—designing a choreography that lets the drone flow from streets to interiors to rooftops without breaking the story.

Urban flight, safely executed. Operating in a dense city requires discipline. The production coordinated flight paths, crowd control, and clear sight lines; staged high‑speed segments away from pedestrians; and followed site‑specific rules to protect both people and property.

Immersive FPV camera language. Lightweight, finely tuned FPV rigs delivered close‑proximity passes, whip‑pan reveals, and dynamic speed changes. The camera “character” stays glued to Swoop—close enough to feel the rush, composed enough to read every beat and cameo.

Seamless transitions. Carefully timed practical moves and editorial bridges keep the flight feeling continuous, letting geographic shifts double as story turns rather than cutaways.

Brand & city, in one frame. Composition, color, and motion cues keep Bud Light’s blue branding and Philadelphia’s skyline/landmarks working together—so the piece reads instantly as both Philly and Bud Light.

Results: branded storytelling with lift

Bud Flight plays like a celebration—of the city, the fans, and the brand. The FPV approach turns simple deliveries into a cinematic journey through Philadelphia, giving viewers a ride they want to replay and share. For experiential, sports, and culture‑driven campaigns, it’s a blueprint: use FPV drone cinematography to put audiences inside the action while keeping brand story front‑and‑center.
